FICTION: AN ENTICING OFFER
It so happened that our dental school reunion, i met my old friend Sumit. What amazed me the way he has changed:i mean his lingo, his way of dressing etc,etc.ON inquiry i found out after graduation he went to Canada and is now happily settled there.
Sumit a happily settled married man??? hey; i could not believe my ears. are u in senses i asked a fellow classmate who was BBC of our class having news from all corner of our class and our worst he specialised in gossip and bed time stories of fellow boys and girls.
But how Sumit could get and remain happily married to a same one girl when he was Mr Ministry of affairs of our batch.The answer although was not forthcoming from my old pal Sumit but it set the investigation department in action( read fellow batchmates who partimed as FBI agents, a department handled by sadistic girls of grandama types who always smell a rat!!
A lead led us to Sumit's wife who my goodness we couldnot believe was our senior(with the best oomph profile in our college and have a pretty lengthy list of boyfriends.....
How could Sumit who always use to each so called fresh fruit fall for the fruit which previously had many owners :we all thought???
The mystery that was getting murkier day by day was revealed by Sumit himself after a long drinking bout or binge between we two. Sumit and me stayed in a same boys hostel in adjacent rooms and also we had a fortune of having to look after ny uncle house after he gone on to america to live with his son. The house had all thinkable luxuries and accessories but uncle gave it to us on a condition Donot MISs use the house**. I was very busy in completing my college credits so the keeps used to be with Sumit only and once when i went to see the house, the neighbours told me countless stories of his daily flings with different gals.On being asked he used to say that i can never remain with one women..
This was Sumit then what happened to him now i asked? He said nothing has changed except that now he Having accepted the ENTICING OFFER is more happy and satisfied man.
SO whatz the Damm Enticing offer i asked eagerly? He replied that we all knew that his wife's father was a very rich man and he owned large tracts of land few automobile dealerships and close to750 petrol stations in Canada and she being the only daughter was likely to inherit that.SO she made him an enticing offer that they both get married they both can carry on with their old lifestyle of "Worldly Affairs" plus as a bonus both will share equal amount of wealth she inherits and her father can die peacefully.
Last May Sumits father in law passed away and he inherited half of the wealth as his wife has promised.My immediate question was donot u feel bad when ur wife still have affairs and fling with other men. He said no my friend its accepted and even he has hack of a time enjoying gals of all nationalities and hues and thus doing his bit for globalisation.His wife epitomised the virtues of empowered woman and we old pals with medieval mindsets stereotyped as blast from the past types or plainly put frustated hypocrites.
He even told me that for old time sake he has found a similar kind of enticing offer for me with one of his wife relations, a girl also wants a similar previleges..
I told him that although conditions in India are not pretty ideal for making decent and respectful living yet i will prefer to be a Common MAN who wants no MINISTRY OF AFFAIRS( neither External nor Internal) as i will be answerable to my future kids who will take some time to understand these MINISTRIES and those AFFAIRS.
